Sex and Reproduction: (I'm sorry in advance)

Cars in the Cars universe operate on a male and female binary. But there's no indication that signifies any differences apart from their voices and the fact that the female cars have thicker eyelashes. But we can see in Cars One that they have gendered bathrooms, which could mean that they have different tailpipe configurations. We do see moments in the films that show Mater towing, which causes them to react as if they were being grabbed by the genitals—something to consider. Regardless of the logistics of sex, there is no way that the cars in this universe reproduce sexually. The way I could see it making sense is that when two cars fall in love and want to reproduce, they order the parts to make a child and choose its made-up stupid gender that makes no sense in this universe and, ultimately, the color. The model they choose can only be one of the parents' models since no hybrid care models are evident in the films. And when the car comes alive and functions, it obviously can't grow organically, at least not on the exterior. Theoretically, It would grow internally based on millage and have to replace its outer shell until it's a fully grown adult car, like a hermit crab. In this photo from Cars 1, you can clearly see a child car. You can tell from its small build and sippy cup. The car is parked or sitting between two other cars in what seems to be their parents. The child car ended up being the same model as the mother's, which tells us they decided to pick her model to build their child, but the color of the car is different. It's a purplish pink, which suggests genetics. Or maybe the parents actively chose to make her pink. Another possibility is that the parents get a select number of colors free of charge, which are either a mix of the two colors or one of the parent's colors, but if you would like to choose any color, you'd have to pay more to modify it. Maybe? The implications could mean anything. How do the organic parts work? Do cars actually reproduce organically? If the answer is yes, does it work like chickens? Do the organic parts develop in an exterior egg, which then is applied to the built exterior of the car? That would explain the genetics of eye color.
